Analyse that characteristics which influence the learning of a group of learners Inclusive learning can be described as an integrated form of learning where learners with special needs are thought with those without special needs. According to Nind et al: ââ¬Å"Education and educational provision is shared by both normalââ¬â¢ pupils and those with a disability, at the expense of differences in the specific nature of each child or young person and her/his particular strengths and areas of weakness, and consequences that these differences have in terms of educational needs.â⬠[1] This means that the aim of inclusive practice is to create a neutral learning environment. It should be noted that that every learner will have different needs andâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦This will aid the learner in terms of integrating with other learners. The teacher should also use the signer or support facilities to further their own knowledge and understanding in order to further help and guide the learner through the course. Specialist equipment may also need to be pro vided as well as resources that are made available either through an interactive learning environment or handouts provided in lesson. There may also be occasions where sign language facilities are not available. This could be overcome by changing the lesson to be more visual ie by using videos, presenting materials using text. If the learner could lip read, then the teacher would need to ensure that explanations were made facing the group so the learner could see the teacherââ¬â¢s facial expressions. Communication with the hearing impaired learner will help the teacher to access what support would be suitable for the learner. The learner can inform the teacher as to what issues they are having and how the environment can be made more suitable. Agreement between the learner and the teacher about methods of communication will be useful; and the teacher should also take the opportunity to inform other learners in the group about their disabled peer although it will require the input of the disabled learner. Any negative behaviour in the classroom should be dealt with appropriately.
